About this Project
We were brought onto this project after a client reached out locally in search of a quality contractor with proven experience in custom stone-paved patios and landscaping. Unfortunately, the contractor they initially hired failed to deliver on their promises and left the project incomplete. Our team stepped in to remove and correct the prior work, carefully preparing and leveling the foundation to ensure the outdoor space was stable, durable, and ready for a true transformation.
In its place, we designed and constructed a custom stone paver patio centered around a permanent firepit — the heart of the new outdoor living area. Each stone was hand-selected and placed with precision, configured like an intricate puzzle. Beneath the surface, the sub-base was built up and compacted to provide long-term stability and structural integrity. The joints were backfilled with pea gravel, adding both functionality and aesthetic appeal by complementing the warm tones of the sandstone and blending seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.
To further enhance the space, we incorporated architectural planters that soften the hardscape with natural greenery while also serving as functional design elements. Each planter integrates reinforced vertical posts, engineered to support future shade structures and decorative string lighting. These features not only create visual balance but also ensure the outdoor living area can adapt and evolve with the homeowner’s needs.
The result is far more than a patio — it’s a complete outdoor experience. Carefully crafted, functional, and artistic, this space was designed to foster comfort, connection, and long-term value. Uniquely tailored to the property, the installation stands out as a one-of-a-kind feature within the River Ranch master-planned community by D.R. Horton. The firepit and surrounding patio now serve as a timeless gathering point for family and friends, providing year-round enjoyment.
