About this Project
We completed a fully framed patio extension that was carefully engineered and architecturally designed to appear as though it was part of the home’s original construction. The extension significantly expanded the outdoor living area, while maintaining seamless integration with the home’s existing architecture and finishes.
To enhance functionality and comfort, the new patio was outfitted with ceiling fans, recessed LED dimmable can lighting, additional soffit-mounted outlets for decorative lighting, and strategically placed wall outlets to support appliances and outdoor entertaining — from casual gatherings to family celebrations. The structural columns were finished with custom brickwork selected to match and complement the home’s original brick color and design, providing continuity and architectural harmony.
In addition to the patio extension, the roofing system was completely upgraded. The original roof had sustained damage from recent storms, including high winds from Hurricane Beryl. As part of the project, we showcased one of Jay’s preferred selections — the Owens Corning TruDefinition® Duration® Teak Algae-Resistant Architectural Shingle. The new shingles not only deliver premium performance and storm resistance, but also elevate the overall curb appeal of the home.
The patio extension and roof replacement were designed and executed as a unified scope of work, tripling the outdoor living space while simultaneously upgrading the entire roof system. The new addition ties seamlessly into the existing structure, making the expansion indistinguishable from the original design and ensuring a cohesive, finished look across the property.
